Camping in the woods throughout NC & TN Smokies Camp in and around the Smoky Mountains National Park
Most of those we surveyed told us that they felt as though the best place to camp in the Smokies is in the Great Smoky Mountains national park. The Great Smoky Mountains national park has Frontcountry campgrounds, backcountry campsites and backcountry shelters throughout the national park.
You can even camp in the Great Smoky Mountains National park with your horse in one of the drive in campgrounds or if you wish camp with your horse in a backcountry camp site. Either way you and your horse will have the time of your life.
