Road Construction in the Smoky Mountains National Park

• Road Construction / Repaving along Newfound Gap Road US441 on the Tennessee Side will start in May from beneath the Chimneys Picnic area up to about mile marker 13. Work will cause delays and daytime lane closures through June 15th.
  
  June 15th through August 15th: No lane closures During the daytime.
  
  October and Federal Holidays: No roadwork or closures of any kind permitted.
   

Blue Ridge Parkway Road Conditions and Construction

• Land Slide stabilization has closed the Blue Ridge Parkway from Milepost 355.3 (NC 128 access to Mount Mitchell State Park) to Milepost 367.5 (the Craggy Gardens picnic area). Expected reopening date is May 5th 2013.
