The Hike Inn is a hikers dream in the Smoky Mountains.

The Hike Inn offers hikers shuttle service transportation to trail-heads from Erwin, Tennessee north to Amicalola Falls State Park, Georgia south also covering Knoxville TN, Asheville NC and Atlanta GA for shuttles to and from airports in the Smokies, bus stations and car rentals.

Besides being a dependable shuttle service, The Hike Inn in Fontana North Carolina has clean comfortable accommodations and for 15 years hikers who stayed at the Hike Inn have received personalized service during their stay.

Don't expect anything fancy here, just courteous service to make any hiker feel at home. The Hike Inn is a small clean inn where the owners Jeff and Nancy Hock are working hard to expand their friendly down home reputation world wide and are dedicated to the principle that the more you enjoy your stay and your hike, the sooner they will see you again.

Reservations recommended year-round but you must make a reservation from December 1st through February 15th and July 10th through September 1st.

Section / day hikers pay only $40.00* for a room that accommodates 1 or 2 hikers and through and long distance hikers check-in by 5 pm and pay $50.00* for accommodations for 1 and $55.00* for 2.

All rates are subject to 9.75% tax and payment can be made in Cash, Travelers Checks and Personal checks. The Hike Inn does not take any credit cards.

Included in the price of your stay at the Hike Inn is transportation to and from the Fontana Dam, 1 load of laundry and 1 ride to Robbinsville North Carolina for dinner and supplies. There is also a free mail drop service for guests. Non guests can use their mail drop service for $30.00*.

The Hike Inn is also where you will find the Graham County museum of prehistoric relics which is Jeff Hocks personal artifact collection is on display at the inn and it's free for anyone to come see it.

In his personal museum you will find Thousands of prehistoric artifacts from North, South and Central America on display, plus a rock bed out front from which the kids may take home samples.

The Museum hours are from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm but please call ahead from December 1st to February 15th.

And if all of this is not enough to make you come to the Hike Inn, you must buy a few jars of Nancy Hochs homemade Picante Sauce which is only available in growing seasons and while supplies last.

This delightful picante sauce is available in three levels of heat: Tame, got some kick and Smokin'. Pints are $4 and Quarts are only $6 and Nancy will gladly ship her delicious sauce for you!
