White-tailed deer (Odocoileus Virginianus) also known as Virginia deer are the most commonly found large mammal in the Great Smoky Mountains national park. National park biologists estimate that there are more than 6,000 deer that presently live with the boundaries of the Great Smoky Mountains national park.
